The Las Vegas Hookers Ice Hockey Club
was founded in 2004 when two Nevada hockey
clubs, Hammerheads and Sharks, merged their rosters. The club is based in
Las Vegas, Nevada.
The club and its players are members of USA
Hockey, the national governing body of hockey in the United States. The club participates in the organization's affiliated leagues and
tournaments. The team is comprised of players age 18
years or older with experience at the college,
junior, or midget levels.
The club's home games are played at the Las
Vegas Ice Center. The club also plays locally in tournaments
at the Fiesta Rancho SOBE Arena. The club's primary
season consists of sixty games from September through June. Games
are scheduled on Monday and Thursday nights. The club also plays a Summer session from June through August.
The club's home and away uniforms are alternate shades
of blue, white, and black. The club logo crest is based
on an original painting by artist Jena
Cardwell of Los Angeles, California. Various merchandise including a wide selection of t-shirts bearing the logo can be purchased online in the Hookers' shopping section.
2007 USA Hockey National Champions
Hookers Beat the Best Competition from Across the USA
August 15, 2006 - The Las Vegas Hookers won the USA Hockey Labatt Blue National Championship Rec Division 1 by defeating Quantum Graphics of Michigan 3-2 in an over-time final match. The Hookers went unbeaten in the round-robin phase of the tournament and were the top seed in the finals. The club also had the lowest goals against of all the teams in the tournament.
Prior to the national finals, the Hookers went unbeaten in the USA Hockey Labatt Blue Pacific Regional tournament held in Las Vegas to qualify for the national tournament.
Multiple League Championships
Hookers Establish A Winning Tradition
Since their formation, the Hookers have built a winning tradition. The club won the 2007-2008 "C" league regular season and play-off tournament titles. The Hookers won the 2007 USA Hockey National Championship. The club won both "B" and "C" league regular season titles during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.
The club added the "B" league play-off tournament cup to their trophy case in 2007. The Hookers also won
Summer league "B" league titles in both 2006 and 2007. They went undefeated in the Summer of 2006. The club has finished with the best defensive record five times.
